Register today! The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau invites you to participate in an upcoming webinar. There is no charge to register or participate.
Elder financial exploitation (EFE) is on the rise. In some communities, stakeholders across various disciplines are using case review to mobilize and coordinate on instances of suspected or confirmed exploitation. Case review teams bring together adult protective services, local law enforcement, local prosecutors, agencies on aging, service providers, and others to discuss specifics of individual cases and coordinate their activities. The participating organizations coordinate their approach to communication with the older community member, prevention of further exploitation, investigation of potential crimes, and prosecution. In addition, discussion of individual cases can reveal trends and patterns that inform community-wide prevention efforts.
Join us on Wednesday, September 11, from 1:00 to 2:30 Eastern, for a webinar on the case review team approach. Participants will learn:
- What case review teams look like and ways they approach their work.
- How enhanced multi-disciplinary teams (E-MDTs) augment the team’s expertise by including forensic accountants and other specialized professionals.
- Promising practices in forming and running case review teams.
- Next steps for forming a case review team in your community.
