March Scam Advice Forum Webinar: Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) Overview

Our next Scam Advice Forum on Thursday, March 28th, 12:30-1:30 pm EST will feature Sam Hursey, Management and Program Analyst at the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). Sam will share an overview of the ic3.gov complaint process, the focus on elder fraud, their Recovery Asset Team (RAT) and other initiatives. Hursey has been with the FBI for 12 years and with IC3 nearly 5 years. He is the subject matter expert for investment fraud and cryptocurrency. Hursey is a member of their recently created crypto team within IC3 and conduct blockchain analysis to assist with crypto-related fraud. Finally, he works with the DOJ’s Elder Fraud Initiative in which they coordinate elder fraud related IC3 complaints to FBI ‘Strike Force’ Field Offices.

ABOUT NAPSA

The National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) is a national non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization with members in all fifty states, D.C., and the territories. Formed in 1989, the goal of NAPSA is to provide Adult Protective Services (APS) programs a forum for sharing information, solving problems, and improving the quality of services for victims of elder and vulnerable adult mistreatment. Its mission is to strengthen the capacity of APS at the national, state, and local levels, to effectively and efficiently recognize, report, and respond to the needs of elders and adults with disabilities who are the victims of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and to prevent such abuse whenever possible.
